Designer Maria B Faces Cyber Crime Inquiry

In Lahore, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched an inquiry against well-known fashion designer Maria B. The action follows a complaint filed against her, alleging that she spread negative propaganda on social media targeting the transgender community.
The complaint was submitted by Naeem Butt, also known as Seema Butt, who claimed that Maria B’s remarks and videos offended and hurt members of the transgender community. The complainant argued that her posts on social media created unnecessary distress and hostility.
Following the complaint, NCCIA has summoned Maria B on August 26 to present her stance and clarify her position on the matter.
Earlier, Maria B released a video statement in which she claimed that a transgender party was held in Lahore. She included a video clip as evidence and urged the Punjab government to take action against the event.
