Devastating Floods in Punjab
Widespread flooding has struck several districts of Punjab, leaving behind massive destruction. In Lodhran, two protective embankments collapsed, allowing floodwaters to enter residential areas. Rescue teams used drones to reach stranded residents and shift them to safety.

Meanwhile, rural parts of Bahawalpur have also been inundated. Reports suggest that more than 100 villages across four tehsils are underwater, causing severe hardships for local communities.

According to a report from the Relief Commissioner, recent heavy rains and overflowing rivers have affected 4,500 villages across Punjab. So far, at least 97 people have lost their lives, and hundreds of thousands have been displaced.

Detailed figures show:

  • 2,334 villages hit by flooding in the Chenab River belt.

  • 672 villages submerged along the Sutlej River.

  • 1,482 villages impacted in areas near the Ravi River.

The report further states that around 4.49 million people have been affected, while nearly 2.45 million individuals have been evacuated to safer locations.
