Tensions have escalated sharply between Pakistan and India as the Pakistan Armed Forces carried out retaliatory strikes, downing five Indian Air Force (IAF) jets and a drone, and destroying a brigade headquarters. The response came after India launched missile strikes targeting cities in Punjab and Azad Kashmir.

DG ISPR confirmed that all Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets returned safely after engaging Indian aircraft. According to a military spokesperson, the downed Indian jets include three Rafale fighters, one Su-30MKI, and one MiG-29 Fulcrum.

DG ISPR elaborated that India had launched 24 missile attacks across six locations within Pakistan, all of which struck civilian areas. He highlighted that many of the targets included mosques and nearby residential buildings, resulting in significant collateral damage.

The latest flare-up follows a deadly attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which killed 26 tourists. In the aftermath, shortly after midnight, explosions were reported across multiple Pakistani cities, including Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muridke, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad.

DG ISPR further stated that India has systematically targeted the Neelum-Jhelum Dam project and the Nauseri Dam, attempting to damage both installations.
