Diamer: Heavy rainfall and landslides have caused multiple sections of the Karakoram Highway to close in Upper Kohistan.
According to police, several landslides occurred between Sazin and Dasu, halting traffic. Near the Minyar area of Chilas, the highway is also blocked due to landslides.
The Chilas to Gilgit section remains open for all traffic, but passengers have been stopped in Chilas and Lower Kohistan due to the closure.
Authorities reported that heavy vehicles are stuck, forming long queues along the road. Restoration work on the Karakoram Highway is underway.
