The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States has begun a safety audit aimed at upgrading the category of Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). If Pakistan passes this audit, direct flights between Pakistan and the USA may be reinstated.

According to details, Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority is actively working on upgrading its category status in the US.As part of this process, a five-member team from the FAA started the safety audit of the CAA from Monday.

Sources revealed that the American team met with CAA officials in Karachi and received briefings on various departments. The team will inspect different units and evaluate safety standards.

If the audit is successful, Pakistan’s aviation category may be upgraded, allowing direct flights between Pakistan and the US to resume.

It is important to note that Pakistan was downgraded from Category 1 to Category 2 following a pilot licensing scandal.

The FAA inspection team arrived in Pakistan last night and is scheduled to complete the audit before returning to the US on September 12.
