Earthquake tremors in Punjab, magnitude 4.4, depth 12 km

Tremors were felt across Lahore and several other districts of Punjab, prompting immediate action from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
According to PDMA, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, and Muridke were among the areas where residents reported shaking. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 4.4, with a depth of 12 kilometres.
All district administrations have been instructed to inspect buildings for structural safety. PDMA’s Provincial Control Room and District Emergency Centres are on 24/7 alert. Heavy machinery and emergency teams have also been placed on standby in case of aftershocks.
Citizens are advised to report any damage or emergency to the PDMA helpline at 1129.
