ECP announces schedule for By-Elections on NA-262 Quetta-I seat vacated by Bazai

ISLAMABAD: The by-elections for the NA-262 Quetta-I seat, which was vacated following Adil Khan Bazai, will be held on January 16, according to a schedule released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
As per the announced timeline, a public notice will be issued on December 2, and aspiring candidates will submit their nomination papers to the returning officer between December 4 and 6. The names of the nominated candidates will be published on December 7.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be completed by the December 12 deadline for filing appeals against the acceptance or rejection of the nomination papers set for December 16. Election tribunals are expected to resolve these appeals by December 21.
The by-elections are crucial for filling the vacant seat in the National Assembly, following the disqualification of the previous representative, Adil Khan Bazai. The ECP’s schedule ensures that all necessary procedures are completed ahead of the election date.
