Edhi Foundation Receives Million-Dollar Donation!

The Edhi Foundation has announced a $4 million donation to equip the ‘Bilquis & Abdul Sattar Edhi – Breast Radiation Bay’ at the Radiation Oncology Department of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi.
The new Radiation Bay, set to begin operations in April next year, will be jointly managed by the Patients’ Aid Foundation (PAF-JPMC) and the Sindh government, according to Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Professor Emeritus, Radiation Oncology, PAF-JPMC.
The facility will provide free treatment to up to 160 breast cancer patients daily using state-of-the-art Helix Tomotherapy units.
The Sindh government has also committed to funding the repair and maintenance of the equipment once the annual warranty expires.
