Fawad Chaudhry Calls for Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD – Former PTI minister Fawad Chaudhry has stressed that escalating political tensions in Islamabad will not resolve the current crisis. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that the best people to negotiate for PTI’s future are currently in jail. Chaudhry expressed the party’s desire to help secure the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, noting that those in prison share similar views to his own.

Chaudhry also mentioned that Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a senior PTI leader, stands firmly with Imran Khan. Qureshi, he said, is advocating for dialogue to reduce political temperatures and initiate talks. The former minister emphasized that the first step toward resolving the situation is to bring down tensions.

Chaudhry claimed that certain government officials were afraid, which led them to leak news about the situation. He argued that Imran Khan’s continued detention benefits specific individuals who want to maintain the status quo. According to Chaudhry, these individuals are not interested in a peaceful resolution.

The former PTI leader also revealed that his party has been in talks with key PML-N ministers. He added that some of them have supported the idea of a truce and peaceful dialogue. Chaudhry expressed optimism that these efforts will bear fruit within the next two to three weeks.

In conclusion, Fawad Chaudhry reiterated that PTI remains committed to playing a constructive role in resolving the crisis. He stressed that the primary goal is the release of Imran Khan, which will allow the party to move forward and restore stability.
