Kuala Lumpur: Pakistan’s hockey team has qualified for the semifinals of the FIH Nations Cup based on a superior goal difference, despite a narrow 4-3 loss to New Zealand in a thrilling group stage match.
Pakistan scored a total of 9 goals during the league stage, which proved crucial in securing a place in the semifinals.
In the decisive match, Pakistan led 3-1 by the end of the first quarter, but New Zealand made a strong comeback to clinch the victory.
Although New Zealand won the match, Pakistan’s overall performance and goal average earned them a spot in the semifinals, reflecting the team’s resilience and consistent efforts.
