Finance Minister announces simplified income tax return filing process

Islamabad: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced a major step toward simplifying the income tax return filing process for individuals and small businesses.

While presenting the federal budget in the National Assembly, the minister said that, starting July 1, the current eight-column tax return form will be replaced with a streamlined seven-column version.

“This reform aims to ease the burden on salaried individuals and small business owners,” Aurangzeb stated. “With the simplified form, taxpayers will no longer need to rely on legal or financial experts to file their returns.”

The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve tax compliance and make the system more user-friendly.
