Lahore: Senior politician Firdous Ashiq Awan has stepped down from her position as the spokesperson of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP). She submitted her resignation to party president Aleem Khan on Wednesday.

In her resignation letter, Awan cited personal reasons for her decision but expressed her continued support for the party’s vision. “I remain committed to the party’s mission of strengthening Pakistan and will always advocate for its principles,” she stated.

Firdous Ashiq Awan joined the IPP earlier this year after parting ways with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Her decision to leave the party’s spokesperson role comes amid speculations of internal differences, though she has not publicly addressed these rumours.

The IPP leadership has yet to release an official statement regarding her resignation. This development comes as the party is gearing up for the next general elections, raising questions about its internal unity.
