First total lunar eclipse of the year to occur on Friday

The first total lunar eclipse of the year is set to take place on Friday, marking a significant astronomical event. According to the Meteorological Department, the eclipse will begin at 8:57 AM PST, reaching totality at 11:58 AM, and concluding at 3:00 PM. During this phase, the Moon will take on a reddish hue, commonly referred to as a “Blood Moon.”
This will be the first total lunar eclipse in nearly three years, with the last one occurring in 2022. However, due to its timing during daylight hours, the eclipse will not be visible in Pakistan. It will, however, be observable in North and South America.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, causing its shadow to fall on the Moon. Unlike a solar eclipse, it is completely safe to view a lunar eclipse with the naked eye.
Additionally, the first solar eclipse of the year is expected on March 29, though it will also not be visible in Pakistan.
