Flight Operations Disrupted in Islamabad Due to Heavy Rain and Bad Weather

Flight operations at Islamabad airport have been severely affected due to heavy rain and poor weather conditions, leading to several flight diversions and schedule changes.
According to airport sources, a private airline flight from Jeddah to Islamabad was diverted and safely landed in Karachi because of the adverse weather. Similarly, PIA flight PK-370, travelling from Karachi to Islamabad, was also diverted and landed at Multan Airport due to the same weather issues.
Sources confirmed that PK-370, originally scheduled to depart Karachi at 9 PM, took off after a four-hour delay at 1 AM. The flight circled near Islamabad for several minutes, waiting for landing clearance, but was eventually redirected to Multan.
Passengers were instructed to remain seated inside the aircraft. On the advice of Air Traffic Control, the captain safely landed the plane at Multan Airport. According to a PIA spokesperson, the flight will proceed to Islamabad as soon as the weather improves.
Sources also reported that the air conditioning system in the aircraft was switched off after landing in Multan, causing significant discomfort to passengers onboard.
