Flood alert around River Ravi: Low-lying areas at high risk tonight: Aleem Khan

The Federal Minister for Communications, Aleem Khan, has warned that low-lying areas around the River Ravi are at high risk due to rising floodwaters and that tonight will be critical for nearby residents.

During a visit to Shahdara, the minister received a detailed briefing on the flood situation and reviewed safety measures in place. Speaking to the media, he said that two to three rivers are experiencing flood conditions, affecting nearby communities.

He assured that the provincial government and relevant departments are actively engaged, and public safety remains the top priority.

Aleem Khan also highlighted that the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has designed protective embankments on both sides of the river, and urged the public to take necessary precautions in light of the current situation.
