Sukkur: Sindh Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has said that while the current flood situation in the province is under control, flood risks remain if India releases more water or if heavy rainfall continues.

Speaking to the media, Shah said that all precautionary measures are in place, and the real picture will emerge after observing the water flow at Panjnad. He noted that evacuations typically begin when water flow reaches 600,000 cusecs in Khairpur and 700,000 cusecs in other areas.

He also expressed concern over the worsening flood situation in Punjab and hoped conditions would improve soon.

Meanwhile, the water flow at Guddu Barrage on the Indus River continues to rise. According to the Flood Control Room:

Inflow: 395,105 cusecs

Outflow: 364,104 cusecs

Moderate flooding is currently being recorded in the barrage, with further increase expected in the next 24 hours.

Authorities have urged residents in low-lying areas to take precautionary measures.
