Former Indian cricketer’s brother arrested!

Vinod Sehwag, the brother of former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, has been arrested by Chandigarh police in connection with a ₹7 crore cheque bounce case. A local court has remanded him to judicial custody, with his bail plea scheduled for a hearing on March 10.
Reports indicate that Vinod, along with Jalta Food and Beverages Company directors Vishnu Mittal and Sudhir Malhotra, issued a ₹7 crore cheque to businessman Krishna Mohan for purchased goods. However, the cheque was dishonoured due to insufficient funds.
In 2022, a court declared Vinod and his associates fugitives after they failed to appear for hearings. By 2023, the police were instructed to file a case against them. Shockingly, Vinod Sehwag is facing at least 174 cheque bounce cases and has applied for bail in 138 of them.
Meanwhile, the Sehwag family is making headlines for another reason—rumours suggest that Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti, may be headed for divorce after more than 20 years of marriage.
