Peshawar: Four armed dacoits disguised in police uniforms were killed in an exchange of fire with police near Mera Kachori in the jurisdiction of Chamkani Police Station, Peshawar. According to officials, the robbers were planning to commit a crime when the encounter took place.

Police confirmed that the bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the mortuary for identification and postmortem. Initial investigations revealed that the gang had recently robbed a doctor’s house in Chamkani while wearing police uniforms.

SSP Operations Masood Ahmed identified the slain robbers as Abdul Ghafoor, Shahpoor, Javed, and Sami, adding that three of them were Afghan nationals.

According to police, the group was part of an inter-district criminal gang operating since 2003, involved in multiple robberies across Fakirabad, Chamkani, Pahari Pura, and Nowshera.

During the operation, police recovered one Kalashnikov rifle, one shotgun, two pistols, and two motorcycles from the scene.

SSP Operations said that the gang was also responsible for two major robberies in Peshawar in recent weeks. The encounter began when police reached the area and were fired upon by the dacoits; security forces returned fire, killing all four within minutes.

These talks are considered important for regional peace and stability, and Pakistan’s demands aim to benefit all parties involved.

Sources said that the Pakistani delegation’s position remains strong and essential for peace. Host countries have also acknowledged that Pakistan’s demands are fair and justified. Throughout the discussions, Pakistan repeatedly emphasized that accepting these demands is in everyone’s interest.
