The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the induction of four cricketing icons—Inzamam-ul-Haq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Mohammad, and Saeed Anwar—into the prestigious PCB Hall of Fame for 2024.

A statement issued by the PCB revealed that the decision was made following an independent and transparent voting process. The voting panel included prominent figures such as Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas (both PCB Hall of Famers), former Pakistan captains Azhar Ali and Bismah Maroof, former women international cricketers Nain Abidi and Sawera Pasha, as well as cricket journalists and analysts like Majid Bhatti, Mohi Shah, Mohammad Yaqoob, Nauman Niaz, and Zahid Maqsood.

The four cricketing legends will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame later this year, with each receiving a commemorative cap and a specially designed plaque to mark the occasion.

Mushtaq Mohammad, who played for Pakistan from 1959 to 1979, is remembered for leading the team to its first-ever Test win in Australia in 1977. He was also part of Pakistan’s squad for the inaugural ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 1975. Later, he took on a coaching role, guiding Pakistan to the final of the 1999 World Cup in England.

Saeed Anwar, one of Pakistan’s most prolific openers, represented the country from 1989 to 2003. Throughout his career, he accumulated 31 centuries and 68 half-centuries, including impressive performances in the 1996, 1999, and 2003 World Cups, where he scored three centuries and three half-centuries.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, who played for Pakistan from 1991 to 2007, was an integral part of the team that won the 1992 Cricket World Cup. Known for his calm demeanour and match-winning performances, Inzamam remains one of the greatest batsmen in Pakistan’s cricketing history.

Misbah-ul-Haq, a key figure in Pakistan cricket from 2001 to 2017, played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup-winning squad in 2009. Under his leadership, Pakistan also reached the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test Team Rankings in 2016, cementing his legacy as one of the country’s finest captains.

The four new inductees will join a distinguished list of cricketers in the PCB Hall of Fame, including Abdul Qadir, AH Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas.
