French Court Jails TikTok Influencer for Prank Involving Fake Syringe Attacks
A French court has sentenced a TikTok influencer to prison for posting videos in which he pretended to inject people with a syringe as part of a so-called prank.

The influencer, identified as Ian M., who goes by the social media name Amine Mojito, is 27 years old. He had posted several videos earlier this year in June, showing him approaching random people on the streets and pretending to inject them.

Although the syringe was capped and no actual injection took place, the videos went viral and caused public fear, especially at a time when rumors about syringe attacks were circulating across France.

The court sentenced Ian to 12 months in prison, with six months suspended, meaning he will serve half of the sentence. Additionally, he was fined between €1,500 and €1,700 for his actions.

The court ruled that the influencer’s actions were irresponsible and dangerous, as they contributed to spreading fear and panic among citizens.

The incident has reignited debate in France over the limits of social media pranks and the responsibility of content creators toward public safety.
