Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has strongly criticized the politicization of national martyrs. Speaking at the Dhamial checkpoint, -he called it a “disgraceful act” and condemned recent remarks by federal ministers as “deeply regrettable.” Gandapur, a Pakistan Tehreeke-Insaf (PTI) leader, emphasized his connection to the military, stating that he belongs to an Army family. He also announced plans to visit the home of Shaheed Major Adnan, adding that his brother fought in the Kargil war.

Gandapur urged the government to adopt policy-based solutions through open dialogue. He stated that Pakistan’s problems require real action and meaningful conversations. According to him, PTI has always promoted talks and concrete strategies. He warned that political point-scoring weakens national unity. The Chief Minister said progress can only be made when leaders focus on public issues rather than personal attacks.

Addressing the controversial May 9 events, Gandapur distanced his party from the incidents. He made it clear that those actions were not part of PTI’s official policy. Any violations, he said, were carried out by individuals, not the party’s leadership. Gandapur stressed that PTI does not support unlawful behavior. He also called for accountability to be applied fairly and not used to target political opponents.

Gandapur reaffirmed his full support for PTI’s founding leader, Imran Khan. He said, “My leader is the founder of PTI,” and noted that the party’s official Twitter account remains under the founder’s control. He emphasized that PTI continues to follow the vision of its founder. No other philosophy or ideology guides the party’s direction, he added. This message was a clear signal of internal loyalty amid party tensions.

On the issue of his passport, Gandapur expressed frustration over federal restrictions. He revealed that his passport has been blocked since May 9 despite multiple applications. He stated he needs it to visit Afghanistan but could go without one if ordered by Imran Khan. Gandapur also reminded that dialogue with Afghanistan falls under federal responsibility. He welcomed the idea of a joint jirga to move discussions forward.
