German Embassy Launches New Online Visa Portal for Pakistani Applicants

The German Embassy in Islamabad has introduced a new consular services portal designed to simplify and expedite the work visa application process for Pakistani citizens.

According to the embassy, the new digital platform, available at digital.diplo.de/visa, is designed to handle a larger volume of visa applications and will replace the previous waiting list system.

The portal offers a step-by-step process where applicants complete a questionnaire and upload required documents for initial review. This ensures that applications are complete and ready for processing before the in-person appointment.

“This new system helps speed up procedures at the embassy by ensuring all documents are ready in advance,” the embassy announced on its official Facebook page.

While the initial application is completed online, all applicants are still required to attend an in-person appointment to confirm their identity, provide biometric data, and pay the visa fee.

The updated system currently covers several types of employment visas, including:

• Skilled worker visas
• EU Blue Card
• Opportunity Card
• Self-employment
• Recognition of foreign qualifications
