Karachi: Good News for K-Electric Consumers, Electricity Prices May Decrease by Rs. 4.69 per Unit

There is good news for K-Electric consumers, as electricity prices may decrease by Rs. 4.69 per unit. This reduction is expected under the monthly fuel adjustment mechanism, and consumers could receive a relief package amounting to Rs. 7.17 billion.

According to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), K-Electric’s request will be heard on June 19. Following the hearing, a decision on the price reduction is likely to be confirmed. NEPRA is expected to approve the reduction after evaluating the request.

Earlier, just two days before Eid, NEPRA had reduced electricity prices by Rs. 2.99 per unit for K-Electric consumers. This reduction was made in light of the monthly fuel adjustment for March, and consumers will benefit from it in their June electricity bills.
