Good news for students: summer holidays announced in Balochistan

Lahore/Quetta: After Punjab, the Balochistan government has officially announced the summer holidays schedule for schools in 2025.

According to a notification, summer holidays in Balochistan’s hotter regions begin today, May 17, and will continue until July 31. Schools will reopen on Friday, August 1.

In Punjab, both public and private schools will be closed from June 1 to August 9, 2025.

The decision was made due to rising temperatures and ongoing climate risks. Officials have indicated that if heatwave conditions intensify, holidays may start a week earlier.

Experts warn that Pakistan remains one of the countries most vulnerable to global warming, making it essential to protect students and school staff from extreme weather conditions.
