Government raises petroleum prices ahead of New Year 2025

The government announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products on Tuesday, just ahead of the New Year.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the prices of key petroleum products will rise by up to Rs2.96 per litre for the next 15 days.
The new pricing structure includes a 56-paisa increase in the price of petrol and a significant rise of Rs2.96 per litre for high-speed diesel, effective immediately.
The Ministry of Finance issued the official notification, confirming that these price adjustments will come into effect from midnight and will remain in place for the next fortnight.
