Great news for the public! Clear reduction in the price of petrol and diesel

In a welcome development for the public, the federal government has announced a reduction in fuel prices. Starting May 1, 2025, the price of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) will go down by Rs2 per litre.
According to the Finance Division, petrol will now cost Rs252.63 per litre (previously Rs254.63), while HSD will be available at Rs256.64 per litre (down from Rs258.64). The decision was made on the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The cut comes after international oil prices dropped sharply—Brent crude and WTI futures saw their biggest monthly decline since 2021. The fall is linked to rising supply from Saudi Arabia and weaker global demand due to ongoing trade tensions.
