Hezbollah’s deputy leader Naim Qassem has dismissed Israeli threats to assassinate him, calling them hollow and meaningless.

According to Reuters, Qassem said in a speech:

“Israel cannot touch me. We are prepared for a prolonged confrontation, and they will be shocked on the battlefield. This is not a limited or ordinary war.”

He added that the enemy cannot intimidate him and will soon witness Hezbollah’s strength. Responding to threats by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Qassem stated:

“The appointed time of death protects a person. When the time comes, no one can alter it; when the time has not come, no one can cause it. Therefore, your threat is meaningless and ineffective.”

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has targeted Israeli military positions in northern Israel with rockets and artillery. The group claimed attacks near the Ain Zaitim base close to Safed and on Israeli troops near the border town of Bileida.
