ICC Annual Conference Kicks Off, Key Decisions Expected

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Annual Conference has officially begun in Singapore, with significant developments unfolding during its initial sessions.

In the opening session, elections were held for the Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC). Representatives from 40 Associate Member nations and 5 regional delegates participated in the electoral process.

Gourmurthy Palani from France, Anurag Bhutnager from Hong Kong, and Gurdeep Clair from Canada were successfully elected as members of the CEC.

Pakistan is being represented by PCB’s Chief Operating Officer, Sameer Ahmed, at the conference. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is also expected to attend the Board Chairmen’s meetings scheduled for July 19 and 20.

• Qualification format for cricket at the Los Angeles Olympics

• Discussions on a two-tier system in Test cricket

• Possible expansion of the T20 World Cup

• Restoration of the One Day Super League
