In a significant legal development, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the removal of Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, and PTI spokesperson Raoof Hasan from the Passport Control List (PCL) and the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro led the hearing for Aleema Khan’s petition. The court ordered the authorities to remove her name from the travel restriction lists and advised her to seek approval from the appropriate trial court for travelling abroad. Aleema Khan was represented by lawyers Ali Bukhari, Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, and Niazullah Niazi.

In a separate but related case, Justice Inam Amin Minhas ruled in favour of Raoof Hasan, declaring the inclusion of his name on the PCL illegal and without merit. The court ordered the immediate removal of his name from the list and directed him to seek trial court approval before any foreign travel.

Hasan’s counsel argued that he is a cancer survivor who requires biannual medical follow-ups in the United Kingdom, highlighting that restricting his travel was unjustified and harmful to his health.

The court noted that Raoof Hasan is currently on bail in an ongoing investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and that no request had been made by the state to revoke his bail.
