In a significant development, the Indian Cricket Board has reportedly refused to send its team to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, citing political and security concerns. Indian media reports indicate that the board has proposed a hybrid model for the tournament, allowing matches involving India to be played at neutral venues rather than in Pakistan.

Six other teams have confirmed their willingness to travel to Pakistan, where matches are scheduled to take place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. However, India’s stance has introduced uncertainty, raising questions about potential adjustments to the tournament format.

The Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025, would mark the first ICC event in Pakistan since 1996. The proposal for a hybrid model mirrors the arrangement adopted during the recent Asia Cup, where some games were held outside Pakistan to accommodate India’s concerns.
