India has finalized a ₹63,000 crore defense deal with France for the purchase of 26 Rafale-M fighter jets, manufactured by Dassault Aviation.

The deal includes 22 single-seaters and four twin-seater jets, which will be deployed on Indian Navy aircraft carriers, replacing the aging Russian-made MiG-29s. In addition to the aircraft, the agreement covers pilot training, simulators, weapons systems, and performance-based logistical support.

The French manufacturer will also supply additional equipment for the 36 Rafale jets already in service with the Indian Air Force.

According to Dassault Aviation, the Indian Navy will become the first foreign force to operate the Rafale-Marine jets after France. Deliveries are expected to take place between 2028 and 2032.
