ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur submitted a constitutional petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday, seeking the parole release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in all ongoing cases.

The petition, filed through legal representatives Latif Khosa and Shehbaz Khosa, underscores the need for urgent measures in light of Pakistan’s current national security situation.

Gandapur highlighted the growing threat from unprovoked aggression by India’s Modi-led government, including multiple drone attacks across major Pakistani cities, which he argued pose a direct threat to Imran Khan’s safety.

In his plea, Gandapur noted that ties between Pakistan and India deteriorated sharply during Khan’s premiership, with Khan consistently challenging Modi’s policies. He emphasised that Imran Khan repeatedly exposed Modi’s stance on critical issues, both nationally and internationally, which, according to the petition, made Khan a prominent target.
