Indian intransigence: Shahid Afridi speaks out

Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has voiced his concerns over India’s continued intransigence in matters related to cricket and politics. Known for his outspoken views, Afridi has once again raised his voice, calling out India’s stance on key issues, particularly its reluctance to engage in bilateral cricketing ties with Pakistan.
Afridi, fondly remembered for his explosive batting and leadership on the field, expressed his frustration over India’s position on various matters that hinder sports diplomacy between the two nations. He pointed out that cricket, a sport of immense passion for both countries, should not be sidelined due to political tensions.
In a recent statement, Afridi stated, “Cricket is a game that brings people together, but unfortunately, political matters have overshadowed it. Pakistan has always been open to playing against India, but it’s disheartening to see India’s reluctance to engage.”
Afridi also emphasised the importance of sports in bridging divides and promoting peace. “Both nations must find common ground through sports, and cricket can be a powerful tool for diplomacy. We should not let politics dictate the future of cricket between Pakistan and India,” he added.
