Islamabad – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday emphasized the need for international collaboration to combat terrorism, calling it a global challenge that demands urgent and united action.

During a meeting with a visiting US Congressional delegation led by Representative Jack Bergman (R-MI), Naqvi underlined Pakistan’s pivotal role in the global fight against terrorism, stating, “Pakistan stands as a wall between terrorism and the world.”

The US delegation also included Representatives Thomas Richard Suozzi, Jonathan L. Jackson, and senior American officials. From the Pakistani side, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, and Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker were present.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in security, counter-terrorism, trade, economy, and border management. Naqvi highlighted the importance of intelligence sharing and access to modern technology for effective counter-terrorism operations.

He also described Pakistan’s relationship with the United States as a key component of its foreign policy and welcomed the upcoming Pakistan Caucus event scheduled for April 30 in the US, calling it a step in the right direction for improving mutual understanding and cooperation.

Referring to Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, Naqvi said, “Our efforts and contributions are unmatched. It is crucial that the world recognizes Pakistan’s central role in maintaining regional and global peace.”

He also acknowledged the US delegation’s participation in the recent Minerals Investment Forum 2025, noting the government’s commitment to supporting investors and ensuring the security of their investments.

State Minister Talal Chaudhry added that the upcoming joint counter-terrorism dialogue in Islamabad this June will be a significant platform to further advance cooperation between the two nations in fighting terrorism.
