ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed a nationwide crackdown against human trafficking networks operating in Pakistan.

The directive was issued during a high-level meeting with newly appointed Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Riffat Mukhtar Raja, and Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Waqaruddin Syed. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and Federal Secretary for Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha were also present at the meeting.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi instructed the FIA chief to devise an effective and comprehensive strategy to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking. He strongly condemned human traffickers, saying they put innocent lives at risk and must be dealt with firmly.

“Those involved in human trafficking are committing a serious crime against humanity. They will be dealt with an iron hand,” Naqvi said.

He further emphasised that all law enforcement agencies must work in coordination to eliminate organised crime, including human trafficking and illegal immigration, from the country.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also stressed that there would be zero tolerance for human traffickers, describing them as criminals who deserve no leniency.
