Fortnite returns to iPhone after 5-year ban

USA: Popular video game Fortnite is once again available for iPhone users in the U.S. after nearly five years.
According to Epic Games, users can now download the game via the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
Fortnite was removed from the Apple App Store in 2020 after Epic introduced its own in-app payment system, sparking a lengthy legal battle with Apple.
A recent court ruling mandated that Apple cannot charge fees on purchases made outside the App Store, paving the way for Fortnite’s return to iOS in the U.S.
Epic CEO Tim Sweeney stated that if Apple applies this “friction-free, Apple-tax-free” policy globally, Fortnite could return to the App Store and ongoing legal disputes may be dropped.
