Iran Offers Mediation in Pakistan and Afghan Taliban Talks

Iran has offered to act as a mediator in Pakistan and Afghan Taliban reconciliation talks to help promote peace and stability in the region. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi contacted the foreign ministers of Pakistan and Afghanistan via phone and expressed Iran’s readiness to assist in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.
According to diplomatic sources, during the phone conversation, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iran’s Foreign Minister discussed bilateral relations, regional issues, and international matters. Both officials emphasized the importance of cooperation to maintain peace and security in the region.

The Iranian Foreign Minister specifically offered mediation to support dialogue between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban. He also highlighted the long-standing and friendly ties between Iran and both countries and stressed that Iran is ready to provide every possible assistance to reduce tensions.
Diplomatic sources said Ishaq Dar updated Iranian officials on the recent talks with Afghanistan and current developments. Both sides agreed on the need to continue consultations and maintain open communication channels to ensure regional stability.
