Tehran (Web Desk) — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to resume nuclear negotiations, dismissing Washington’s claims that it has “destroyed” Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

According to international media reports, Khamenei’s remarks were broadcast by state television following five rounds of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington. These negotiations ended in June after a 12-day air conflict during which Israeli and U.S. forces targeted Iranian nuclear sites.

Khamenei harshly criticized Trump’s reputation as a “deal maker,” saying, “If a deal is made under pressure and coercion, it is not a deal but an act of bullying.”

He also ridiculed the U.S. President’s boast that American strikes had completely destroyed Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, remarking, “Trump proudly says he bombed Iran’s nuclear industry — well, keep dreaming!”

The Iranian leader emphasized that Iran’s nuclear facilities are a domestic matter, and U.S. interference is “inappropriate, wrong, and oppressive.”

Western powers have long accused Iran of secretly seeking to develop nuclear weapons through uranium enrichment. However, Tehran insists that its nuclear program is purely for peaceful energy purposes.

The ongoing tension between Iran and the United States has escalated to a new level. U.S. President Donald Trump has raised serious questions about the Iranian government, stating that if the current leadership cannot “make Iran great again”, then why shouldn’t there be a change in leadership? However, he clarified that the term “regime change” is not politically appropriate.

Trump’s recent statement has sparked fresh debate, focusing on Iran’s internal political situation and the growing instability in the region.

In response to the U.S. attacks, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made his first public reaction, declaring that Iran will punish Israel. He emphasised that Israel’s recent actions will not go unanswered.
