Ishaq Dar to Visit Beijing for Trilateral Talks with China and Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, is set to depart for Beijing on Monday, leading a high-level delegation for key diplomatic engagements, reliable sources confirmed.

During the visit, Ishaq Dar is scheduled to meet with the Chinese Prime Minister to discuss matters of mutual interest, including regional security and economic cooperation. Diplomatic sources noted that this visit comes at a critical time amid heightened tensions in South Asia.

In a significant development, Afghanistan’s interim Foreign Minister, Ameer Khan Muttaqi, is also expected to arrive in China on May 20. The visit sets the stage for a trilateral meeting involving foreign ministers from China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan to be held in Beijing.

According to sources, the three sides will engage in in-depth consultations regarding the current regional situation, especially in light of escalating Pakistan-India tensions. The agenda will also include discussions on strengthening trilateral trade ties and enhancing security cooperation.
