Islamabad High Court (IHC) has taken a significant step to address legal challenges faced by overseas Pakistanis by appointing a special bench to handle their cases, particularly related to property disputes.

According to an official notification, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro has been designated to hear cases, appeals, and revisions concerning overseas Pakistanis under the Establishment of Special Court (Overseas Pakistanis Property) Act, 2024. This initiative aims to provide swift legal relief to overseas Pakistanis facing prolonged disputes.

The notification was issued by Deputy Registrar (General) Muhammad Sarfraz Sharif on behalf of the Registrar, formalizing the establishment of this specialized bench.

The decision follows strong advocacy from Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, with support from Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani. Their efforts emphasize the government’s commitment to protecting the rights of overseas Pakistanis and ensuring they receive timely justice.
