Israel claims killing top Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed lawmakers that Mohammed Sinwar, the current Hamas leader in Gaza, was killed in a recent Israeli military operation.

According to international media, Mohammed Sinwar is the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar, the former top Hamas commander who was killed by Israeli forces in southern Gaza last year. Following his brother’s death, Mohammed assumed leadership of Hamas in Gaza.
