Israeli Airline Moves Planes Abroad After Drone Threat

Amid rising military tensions between Iran and Israel, Israel’s well-known airline Arkia has announced that it has relocated all its passenger aircraft out of the country. According to the airline’s spokesperson, the move was taken as a precautionary measure due to the threat of a possible Iranian counterattack.

This decision comes at a time when Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israel. Among these were Shahed-136 drones, which have a range of approximately 2,500 kilometres and a speed of 185 km/h. Despite their simple design and low cost, these drones are capable of striking targets at long distances.

An Israeli military spokesperson stated that the country’s air defence systems are successfully intercepting the Iranian drones and that Israel will continue its aerial strikes against Iran. He added, “We are responding effectively to every threat, and operations will continue.”
