The Israeli military campaign in Gaza continues with growing intensity. On Sunday, Army Chief Herzi Halevi approved a new phase of the war. Reports confirm that the plan includes more strikes and pressure to fully seize control of the Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli media, Halevi claimed the army achieved its goals under “Operation Gideon Chariots”. That operation began in May with a ground invasion. Its purpose was to expand occupied areas in Gaza and drive Palestinians out of northern Gaza completely.

However, Hamas issued a strong warning in response. The group said this new approval means further massacres and forced displacement of Palestinians. Hamas called it a dangerous move that will lead to large-scale killings and destruction.

The statement also accused Israel of ignoring international law. Hamas said the war is being fuelled by American backing and Zionist hostility. It described Israel’s strategy as part of an ongoing 22-month campaign of genocide against Gaza.

Hamas added that the violence in Gaza, daily raids in the West Bank, and settler terrorism all serve one plan. According to the group, Israel wants to expel Palestinians from their land and expand its project of “Greater Israel” into neighbouring countries.
