Israeli Defense Minister Issues Warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader Amid Rising Tensions

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has issued a sharp warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, cautioning him against continued missile attacks targeting Israeli cities. Katz suggested that Khamenei could face consequences similar to those of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein if Iran persists with its current military actions.

Speaking at a military briefing on Tuesday, Katz accused Khamenei of directly ordering attacks that he described as “war crimes.” He referenced the downfall of Saddam Hussein, who was removed from power during the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and later executed after months in hiding.

“The Iranian leader should remember what became of another regional dictator who chose the same path of aggression toward Israel,” Katz stated.

The Defense Minister also confirmed that Israel had recently struck the headquarters of Iran’s state broadcaster in Tehran. He warned that Israeli operations could expand to additional government and military locations within Iran.

“We will continue targeting both government and military sites in Tehran, just as we struck their propaganda center yesterday,” Katz said.
