Jamshed Dasti Disqualified from National Assembly

ISLAMABAD (July 15, 2025): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Member of National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti over allegations of possessing fake educational degrees, effectively terminating his membership in the National Assembly.
According to the official verdict, two separate petitions were filed against Dasti, both accusing him of forging academic credentials. The ECP confirmed that the degrees submitted by him were found to be fraudulent, leading to his disqualification under constitutional and legal provisions.
The commission also accepted a reference sent by the Speaker of the National Assembly, which further supported the disqualification.
