K-Electric Continues Power Restoration in Rain-Affected Areas of Karachi

KARACHI: K-Electric has confirmed that electricity restoration is actively underway in parts of Karachi impacted by recent rainfall, with power now restored to a majority of the city.

According to a spokesperson, 1,830 out of 2,100 feeders across Karachi are currently supplying electricity without interruption. Several localities, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, PECHS Block 3, Bahadurabad, Nauman Centre, SITE Industrial Area, and Shahnawaz Bhutto Colony, are among the areas where power has been restored.

However, electricity supply remains suspended in low-lying and high-risk areas, particularly where encroachments or illegal connections pose safety concerns. The temporary suspension is a precautionary measure to avoid electrical hazards during wet conditions.

K-Electric’s field teams are on the ground working to resolve remaining issues. Citizens are encouraged to report electricity faults or emergencies by calling the 118 helpline.
