K-Electric proposes a reduction in electricity bills

K-Electric consumers may soon receive significant relief in their electricity bills as the power utility has proposed a reduction of Rs4.84 per unit under the monthly fuel adjustment for January.
According to reports, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is set to conduct a hearing on K-Electric’s request tomorrow. If approved, the reduction could result in an overall relief of approximately Rs 4.695 billion for consumers.
In February, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced plans to lower electricity tariffs for domestic consumers and industries through reforms in the power sector. The proposed reduction aligns with efforts to ease the financial burden on the public and promote economic stability.
