K-Electric to Respond to NEPRA’s Show Cause Notice on Load Shedding

Karachi: K-Electric has announced that it will respond to the show cause notice issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) regarding prolonged load shedding in the city.
According to a spokesperson, the power company is currently reviewing the notice and will submit its official response within the time frame set by NEPRA.
The notice was served following complaints about extended power outages affecting even those consumers who regularly pay their electricity bills. NEPRA raised concerns that K-Electric was carrying out load shedding at the feeder level instead of targeting specific overloaded transformers, causing inconvenience to compliant consumers as well.
K-Electric assured that it is assessing the issue seriously and will address the regulator’s concerns in its response.
