Karachi – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi has granted a 10-day physical remand for two suspects, Javed and Gul Nisa, in connection with last month’s blast near Jinnah International Airport. The explosion targeted a convoy of Chinese nationals, leaving two dead and several injured, according to the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.

The suspects were presented in court after the expiration of their initial remand. The investigation officer informed the court that she was involved in the incident.

Police allege that the suspects assisted the suicide bomber responsible for the attack. They also claim that the accused have links to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

The court has instructed the investigation officer to continue the inquiry and provide a progress report at the next hearing.

The blast, which drew widespread condemnation, targeted foreign nationals and highlighted security concerns in the region. Authorities are ramping up efforts to address the threat of militancy and ensure the safety of international partners and citizens.
