In a significant development in the honey trap and kidnapping for ransom case involving renowned playwright Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar, key witnesses have recorded their statements against the accused, including Amina Arooj and Hassan Shah, in an anti-terrorism court.

According to details, the hearing took place in the Anti-Terrorism Court, presided over by Judge Arshad Javed. Ten accused, including Amina Arooj and Hassan Shah, were brought to court from jail, while one accused, Yasir, appeared voluntarily for the hearing.

During the proceedings, lawyers from both sides presented their final arguments. Deputy Prosecutor General Abdul Jabbar Dogar, representing the prosecution, urged the court to sentence the accused. The investigating officer also asserted that Amina Arooj, Hassan Shah, and other suspects were involved. The court was informed that the Lahore High Court had directed an expedited decision on the case.

Witnesses testified in court, revealing that Amina Arooj had lured Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar to her flat under false pretences, where she, along with her accomplice Hassan Shah and others, kidnapped him and demanded a ransom of one crore rupees.

The court has adjourned the case until tomorrow, instructing the defence lawyers to present their final arguments at the next hearing.
